More about Lauburu Languages
¡Hola! My name is Isabel, and I am a native Spanish speaker and a qualified teacher in the UK with a PGCE and DBS check.
I was born and raised in Bilbao, Spain. I´ve lived in some European and African countries in the past but moved to the UK permanently in 2001.
In 2015, I earned a BA H in Business, followed by a Master's in Hispanic Studies in 2017, deepening my understanding of the history, economy, and politics of the Spanish-speaking world.
Since 2002, I have been teaching Spanish at Prince Henry’s Grammar School within their Community Programme, in Otley and have worked in various primary and secondary schools across the UK since 2007.
I have successfully helped numerous students prepare for their GCSE and A-level exams, leading to excellent results. Known in my community, I am passionate about engaging others in the Spanish language and its rich culture by tailoring lessons to their interests.
Additionally, I have a strong passion for nature, the environment, and the arts. I have previously conducted workshops in Spanish with a local artist and recently started organizing games workshops at a local café in Otley to promote Spanish culture, where Spanish speakers of all levels can practice while having fun.
Sharing culture enriches our minds and souls, creating valuable connections.
In 2012, I founded Lauburu Languages to facilitate the Spanish language skills and culture to everyone.
I look forward to meeting you!
¡Hasta pronto!
Isabel :-)
